Temporary Return, Familiar Kitchen 2025

A hybrid play experience exploring my mother's Fuzhou Fish Ball recipe through exaggerated soft sculptures and the digital screen. Through physical computing, sculptural objects, and projected animation, a play kitchen emerges where users interact with objects that trigger contextual instructions and animations in the central play space.

Physical fabrication (sewing, woodworking, CNC), physical computing (RFID, ESP32, continuous Servo motor, Arduino),  and hand-drawn animations compiled with game logic in Unity.

Two-color riso-printed recipe zine featuring my mother’s handwritten fish ball recipe dated 11/19/2016.

Exhibited in Rapid Eye Movement, Tomayko Foundation.

Gameplay animation as a loop.
Triggered mixing animation from sensing input from the activated mixer.
